Tri-color Glass Sand Mix in Brooklyn, NY

Josh Simpson, Ruby Lake Glass’s VP of Sales, recently caught our “Plaza Mix” in the wild. Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn, is a showcase for the tri-color glass sand mix that we custom created for New York City’s DOT when they challenged Ruby Lake Glass to mimic a natural quarried aggregate they’d mined for decades.

In an effort by New York City to have a more permanent installation that expresses the commitment to equality, justice, and inclusion our color-coated glass aggregate was chosen to delineate the words BLACK LIVES MATTER out front of the Staten Island Ferry Terminal on Richmond Terrace with plans on refurbishing similar installations in each borough.

Look at the incredible intricacy of this compass! The stencil designed using Ruby Lake Glass Color Coated Glass Aggregate as the pop of color and texture. This installation adds a beautiful and artistic touch to the middle of the intersection of American Way and Fleet Street in National Harbor, MD.

Grant Avenue Green Bike Lanes in Ogden, UT

Grant Avenue Green Bike Lanes in Ogden, UT

The city of Ogden rebuilt Grant Avenue between 20th and 22nd Streets to accommodate pedestrians and bikes. This was a large project rebuilding with large new protected bike on both sides of the road. For added protected and visibility, on 22nd street in front of the Church of Latter Day Saints green bike lanes were installed to keep the continuity of safety through more than just Grant Street.
